Introducing Donegal Food Tours

TASTE – SEE – EXPLORE THE COOLEST PLACE ON THE PLANET!

Visitors and lucky locals are in for a real treat this year with the launch of the county’s very first guided Food tours. Created by local duo Sue Glackin and Cathy Cowan, Donegal Food Tours is an exciting new concept that aims to showcase the very best hospitality the county has to offer, in a relaxing and enjoyable way.

Jump on board the Donegal Food Tours bus and let the team take care of your day as they introduce you to some of the finest chefs, foodie destinations and delicious produce the region has to offer. Not to mention the incredible views, local attractions and beautiful countryside you can savour along the way!

The routes will vary on every tour (depending on venue and producer availability) with a number of midweek and weekend options to choose from each month. As well as full day and half day tour routes, the team has also launched, Donegals first Gin Trail which brings guests to five gin themed locations with some delicious local food also included.

The Lemon Tree Restaurant

A Michelin Recommended restaurant, owned and managed by Failte Ireland Food Ambassador and award-winning Head Chef Chris Molloy with a strong focus on using quality, local ingredients from land and sea.

Gin Tasting with An Dulaman (the first gin distilled in Donegal based on a delicious combination of seaweed and local folklore) and two other popular Donegal destinations who have created their very own gins this year, Castle Grove Country House Hotel and the charming Olde Glen Bar.

Coffee Time

Housed in a traditional thatched cottage, guests can savour food cooking over the open fire and a menu brimming with local ingredients, foraged produce and recipes passed down through the generations.
