We always love an excuse to visit the team at Harvey’s Point so we were delighted to receive one of their exclusive invitations to experience the new Festive Afternoon Tea, launched yesterday afternoon in the hotel.
With a glass of bubbles in hand, Sheila and Carina from the Harvey’s Point Marketing Team gave us a guided tour of the hotel event and accommodation spaces, sharing lots of interesting stories and amusing anecdotes along the way.
As with every event or occasion in Harvey’s Point, all the little details were considered and executed perfectly. Festive tunes filled the air, open fires crackled in the background and our table was dressed beautifully with an abundance of fresh holly, flowers, baubles and Christmas crackers. Pair that with the stunning views overlooking Lough Eske and you really have the most picture perfect setting to begin the Christmas season in style.
Our Festive Afternoon Tea experience started with a warming glass of Mulled Wine. Our first of the season set a high bar filled with fresh fruit and spices. Then it was onto the main event starting with a Roasted Parsnip and Brown Butter Velouté before the traditional Afternoon Tea Tower emerged from the kitchen, to a chorus of ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhhs’ from the excited guests.
Brimming with homemade treats almost every element had a festive twist! From the mini croissants filled with Baked Ham and Date Chutney to the Turkey, Sage Stuffing and Cranberry Sandwiches and Smoked Salmon. A real taste of Christmas in every bite. As much as we love well considered savoury flavour combinations we always look forward to seeing the sweet treats, and this time we were not disappointed. If Santa Claus made us choose our favourites then we’d have to say the mini fruit tartlets with beautiful light crème pâtissière and Eilish’s homemade fruit scones still warm from the oven. Simply delicious!
If you are looking for an afternoon treat to enjoy with family and friends in Donegal this Christmas then this is definitely one of the best experiences on offer. Available for €25 or €35 to include Prosecco, to book see www.harveyspoint.com
