Donegal Food Tours, very first Hen Party!

We hosted our very first Hen Party group, at the end of the Summer! One half of Donegal Food Tours, the lovely Cathy Cowan and her hens celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a Donegal ‘Gin & Food Trail’.

We picked the ladies up at a private residence in Ramelton, before heading to Oakfield Park where we were greeted with Prosecco and taken on a train ride round the estate. The ladies then lunched on Donegal crab meat salad with crispy crab cakes, local watercress, shallots and parmesan as well as a Beetroot Salad with goats cheese and walnuts. All the salad had actually been harvested from their own walled garden.

After Oakfield Park we made our way to Castle Grove Country House Hotel where the ladies enjoyed a Strawberry Gin Afternoon Tea outside under the trees in the garden.  We had home made scones, sandwiches and tray bakes all made from seasonal fruit and salad elements, that had been grown on the estate.

Later in the afternoon we drove around the stunning Mulroy Bay making our way to Olde Glen Bar and Restaurant for some delicious Olde Glen Gin & Tonics. We also made a few unexpected friends of the 4 legged variety. See pics below!

After a little ‘horse play’, we headed to the fabulous Logue’s Bar Goose & Gander Pizzeria for a variety of sourdough stone baked pizzas and a gin of their choice.

Later that evening we took the girls back to the lovely The Bridge Bar and Restaurant, Ramelton where we left them to enjoy their night.
